Roll of Honour A to L

It was not possible in the scope of the book to include full details of every man from 11th DLI for whom I had been able to obtain records. The Roll of Honour will serve to record everything that I have been able to find out about several hundred individuals, listed alphabetically regardless of rank. The majority are those who died, but the list also includes a number of survivors. Where someone has been incorrectly recorded as belonging to 11th DLI, at the time of their death, by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission or in Soldiers Died in the Great War, their names have been moved to a separate section, the Addendum.

Pages of names are subordinate to this one. To browse a particular page, say ‘Names A’, hold the cursor on the tab ‘Roll of Honour’ above, and choose the appropriate page. To search for a particular individual, type their surname in the ‘Search’ box and you will get a reference to that particular entry.

I will be progressively adding pages as I complete a review of each group of names. As of this posting, only letter ‘A’ is available. I will be attempting to add pages at approximately monthly intervals.

Should you wish to add information or ask questions, then please use the comment facility on this page.

Maybe of some interest my Grandfather serviced in the 11th DLI.
When my Dad was born in 1916, on the birth certificate my Grandfather rank and profession is given as
Private 11th Durham Light Infantry (Coal Hewer)

    Grandfather Henry Keith Storey

    Enlisted 31st August 1914
    Discharged 31st March 1920
Service with the Colours – 31-8-14 to 1-2-19
    Cause of Discharge General Demobilization.

I don’t really know much about my Grandfather came to Australia in “short pants”

    Regards
    Malcolm Storey
